Earth Day at TPA Highlights Regional Initiatives and Partnerships

In celebration of Earth Day, Tampa International Airport hosted its fourth annual Earth Day at TPA event on April 22, bringing together more than 25 exhibitors focused on resource management and operational efficiency across the Tampa Bay region. The event showcased initiatives from airport partners, local governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, and regional organizations.

Tampa Bay Clean Cities Coalition participated as an exhibitor, with Alex Kolpakov, Jana Huss, and intern Kiley Barton engaging attendees on topics related to transportation efficiency, fuel options, and evolving mobility solutions. The coalition joined organizations including the University of South Florida, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, The Florida Aquarium, and TECO in highlighting ongoing efforts within the Tampa Bay community.

Originally launched in 2023 to highlight airport initiatives, Earth Day at TPA has expanded into a regional event, welcoming more than 200 attendees this year, including airport employees, students, airline and concession staff, and members of the traveling public.

The event also recognized the Tampa Airport Marriott for achieving LEED Building & Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its recent hotel renovation project, underscoring TPA’s continued focus on efficient building practices and responsible operations.
